Use exercise to keep doing what you love. For me, that means being outside in nature.

What Is This Group?

Fitness for 14ers is a community of like-minded individuals who use purposeful training to stay ready for the outdoors.

I created this group because I deeply believe in the power of exercise—and in the value of getting outside. In a world filled with screens, packed schedules, and time spent indoors, stepping into nature may be one of the best things we can do for our physical and mental health.

Whether you’re brand new to the trail or a seasoned hiker, this group is for you.

Each summer, we complete two group hikes in Colorado. Information about our upcoming trips can be found in the “Next Adventures” section.

I offer in-person training for those local to Grand Junction, CO, as well as online programming for anyone training from out of state. You can find more details on the "Services" page below.

I look forward to meeting you, sharing the trail, and making memories!

Next Adventures

Trip #1 - Mount Bierstadt Trail

**Tentative Date - July 18, 2026** Subject to change due to weather forecast.

mount-bierstadt.jpg

Lodging Towns:

Idaho Springs, George Town, Silver Plume, Frisco. All towns off I-70 provide great lodging, dining, and exploring! You can't go wrong with either. If you want a hot shower and not a cold plunge, I recommend this option!

Hiking times start early (5:30 am) to avoid adverse weather conditions. Keep this in mind when planning where you will stay!

Trip # 1 Camping Options:

If you are going to camp, please check all campground information and abide by all forest service regulations.

Please take note that campground sites do fill quickly! It is best practice to call or book ahead if possible. If the site is first come first serve, plan to arrive Thursday, sites tend to be filled by the weeks end.

1: West Chicago Creek Campground

2: Clear Lake Campground

3: Guanella Pass Campground

Trip #2 - Quandary Peak Trail

Lodging Towns:

Silverthorne, Frisco, Breckenridge, Alma, Fairplay, South Park (yes those little cartoon inventors) . I would recommend staying in a town off of Highway 9, the town of Alma has the BEST sourdough cinnamon rolls, and great coffee right across the street! You can't go wrong with either. If you want a hot shower and not a cold plunge, I recommend this option!

Hiking times start early (5:30 am) to avoid adverse weather conditions. Keep this in mind when planning where you will stay!

Trip # 2 Camping Options:
